Dr. Qinxian Jin
Dr. Jin Qinxian is the Vice Secretary-general of the Office of the President at Tsinghua University，the Dean of the Office of Technology Transfer and the Director of XIN Center and at Tsinghua University.
Dr. Jin has held numerous senior roles at Tsinghua University and has extensive experience in technology transfer and R&D research. Dr. Jin began his career in academia and was previously an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University. Since 2005, he has served as the Director of the R&D Management Department and Director of International Technology Transfer Center at Tsinghua University, responsible for managing relations between Tsinghua University and local governments/ enterprises. Since 2010, Dr. Jin became the Vice Director of the Beijing Tsinghua Industrial R&D Institute, responsible for the commercialization of Tsinghua University’s scientific and technological achievements in Beijing. Between 2013, Dr. Jin served as the Vice Secretary-general of the Office of the President at Tsinghua University
Dr. Jin is currently on the Board of Tsinghua Holdings Co. Ltd.
Dr. Yi Jiang
Dr. Yi Jiang is holding leadership position at the XIN Center of Tsinghua University, which is an innovation hub co-founded by Tsinghua University and Tel Aviv University of Israel. XIN Center of Tsinghua University is also the China-Israel 7+7 Research Universities Alliance Secretariat. As the general manager of XIN Center, Dr. Jiang takes full responsibilities for recruiting the most talented young scholars from Universities for innovation and entrepreneurship training; creating well-connected global network by including leading academics, central and local governments, top venture capital institutions, and industrial corporations; establishing an effective eco-system for technology transfer of high-tech incubation projects.
Dr. Jiang got her Bachelor degree from Tsinghua University, and PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Jiang worked as a group leader in charge of the Integrated Building division of the United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Research Center. Dr. Jiang has published dozens of journal papers and has more than 10 patents authorized.
Prof. Yael Hanein
Prof. Yael Hanein received the B.Sc. degree in physics from Tel-Aviv University, Israel, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. In 2003, she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Electrical Engineering Department and a research associate position at the Physics Department at the University of Washington, Seattle and joined the faculty of Tel-Aviv University, at Tel-Aviv, Israel. She is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Tel-Aviv University and a VP at nanoRetina, an Israeli startup company.
She is also the Director of the Tel-Aviv University Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Prof. Hanein's research activity concerns with the development of electronic nano devices, in particular devices designed to interface with brain cells and to record their activity. Prof. Hanein was a founding member of the Global Young Academy and was selected as a member of the Israeli Young Academy by the Israel Academy of Science and Humanities. In 2012 she was awarded the prestigious European Research Council started grant.
Mr. Yuval Kupitz
Mr. Yuval Kupitz received B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Biology, M.Sc. in Biochemistry and an additional M.Sc. degree in Business Management and Industrial Chemistry, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Prior to his appointment at XIN Center and Tel-Aviv University, Yuval served in various management positions in the Biotech industry.
He served as a Director of Applied Biotechnology at The National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev Ltd., developing and managing applied research programs emerging from Ben-Gurion University researchers to proof-of-principle stages, and commercializing them.
Yuval was a Vice President of Business Development-Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics as well as of Intellectual Property at Hadasit Ltd., the technology transfer company of leading hospitals in Israel. There he experienced with dozens of out-licensing deals in the Bio/Pharma arena and in many routes for business development activities such as Start-Ups establishments and IPO's.
Prior to his 12 year tenure at Hadasit, he held various positions including at the Technology Transfer Office of the NIH, USA, at the agriculture and the science departments of the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC, and at Sigma Chemicals Ltd., a subsidiary of Sigma-Aldrich, Inc., where he served as a Production Manager.
